Discovery Graduates chosen to develop assessment tools with Merlin Entertainments Group

Release Date: 23 March 2011

Discovery Graduates have been chosen to work in partnership with Merlin Entertainments Group to develop the assessment tools and processes for its XLR8 graduate recruitment programme.

Gayle Catt, Graduate Manager at Merlin Entertainments Group explains -
“The graduate programme has recently undergone a major transformation in that we have re-branded the programme, reduced the programme length from 2 years to 18 months and split the programme into 2 routes (General Management and Marketing).  This is largely based on the success we have had with our current graduates and where we see them in the future.  I felt it was important that the recruitment reflected the ambitions of our new programme and chose to work with Discovery Graduates due to their understanding of our business and of what we are trying to achieve.  The assessment centres need to work globally, we will be running them in the UK, Germany, Hong Kong and the USA.

‘’We have also worked with Discovery to profile the DNA of a Merlin graduate.  It is important to us to get this right through all aspects of recruitment and development.  We have actioned this through working with our Executive board and our current graduates to understand what makes a successful Merlin graduate.”

Applications for entry onto Merlin Entertainments' XLR8 scheme in 2011 are still open. For more information, visit: http://www.merlincareers.com/graduates
